USB Controller driver

I just installed a SIIG USB 3.0 to SATA/IDE adapter. No matter what jumper position I place the jumper on the HD, when I power up the PC IT stalls out after the MD logo displays. I did some research and found that the USB Controller driver was missing, yet I cannot find a driver on the web or on my PC. I just recently built this PC using a MSI MB. I tried using their liveupdate program to no avail, If I hook the adapter up to the 3.0 USB port after power up the HD is not recognized.

Thanks Theog, but this does not help me. There are two 3.0 usb ports built into the motherboard. It is those two that need a controller as far as I can tell. When I go to devices and printers, I see a yellow triangle with a ! in the middle. I run the troubleshooter and it comes up with the 'There is no USB controller installed'. Or am I missing something. The link you posted, will that driver solve the problem? I don't have that device on my PC.

Given that the MSI MB does, in fact, have USB 3.0 ports, it could be that you have not enabled them in the BIOS settings. That would prevent Win7 from seeing them and prompting you to install the drivers.

I have a Gigabyte board and their website has a download file for their NEC USB 3.0 chipset on this board. But, I had to Google for Renesas USB 3.0 firmware, download the current version, install it, and update the NEC drivers from the same site -- BEFORE my USB 3.0 ports would work.
