I have created a Macrium boot usb on a Sony - I launched it yesterday and everything worked fine - took me to the Reflect restore menus. The problem I'm having is common I believe - when I go to the safely eject drive, it says the drive is busy and to close files b/f ejecting. I don't see anyway to do this and if I just pull it out, I run the risk of data loss - any ideas on a solution for this. Also, I tried a test and after copying some files on a Sandisk usb on my win10 laptop, I did not get the msg. I did however, get the msg with that usb on my win7 desktop.

Is this just a win7 issue? Thanks.

IF this happens you can't just use the usual Shut Down that you would use when shutting down the computer, which will get it to write any data that needs to be done. After shut down just remove the USB drive.

OK - makes sense - just do your thing and after done, do the normal shutdown and then remove the usb drive. Great. Thanks very much.

Win PE in my USB recovery media only has the option to shutdown and restart. I just wait until the screen goes black and pull the drive before reboot starts.

Hmmm. Now I'm confused. I just want to remove the usb safely from the slot. The poster b/f you said it could be pulled once the pc was off. Which makes sense. I can go that route as well, correct?

My complete apology this should read "If this happens you CAN just use the usual Shut Down that you would use when shutting down the computer, which will get it to write any data that needs to be done. After shut down just remove the USB drive.

I don't know how this typo got there without me noticing it. :o
