Solved Usb flash drive can't be read. (urgent)

Hi, I have another problem (yes... again...) I made another thread because this problem is apart of the other one. I don't know if this is the good forum for that, but I'll still post there because I know there are many people that can help me quickly.

I did a backup of my data (music and homework, and drivers I might need) on a USB flash drive (this one: Extreme USB Flash Drive by SanDisk). Then I re install Windows, plugged in the USB flash drive and unzipped the drivers, while one was unzipping, my computer shuts down (My battery is probably dead, and I accidentally unplugged the computer with my leg(I was lying with the computer on me in a strange way...)). I removed the USB flash drive, rebooted the computer, re plugged the USB flash drive, I heard the sound it makes when connecting a peripheral, and at the bottom of my screen, if I hover over the peripheral icon, I had the option to eject it. But I wasn't able to open it. I tried on another computer (with windows 8) and it was unable to open it too. Both computers detect it, but weren't able to open it. I have a homework on my USB flash drive that is very important and long, and it is due Wednesday... Is there any way to retrieve it?

Hello Trexiic,

Does the USB drive show up in the Computer window with the other drives?

While the USB flash drive is connected, go ahead and post a screenshot of your Disk Management window to see if it may show what the issue is.

That is the flash drive. The number is in binary.

Try right clicking on it and asign a drive letter.

It tells me:

The operation failed to complete because the Disk Management console view is not up-to-date. Refresh the view by using the refresh task. If the problem persists close the Disk Management, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer.

I used the refresh task, then Disk management crashed, I restart it, and I get the same error message...

See if you may be able to use OPTION THREE in the tutorial below to assign a drive letter to the USB in a command prompt.

Type list disk and press Enter to see if it may show the USB. Look at the size to help ID it.

If so, then use select disk # , then type list volume.

Thaaaaaannnnk you so much! I worked! I choosed option 2, then data recovery, then damaged partition recovery, and tadam!

edit: Well, I was able to recover the data, but now I need to find a way to make it visible in the computer windows, it is still damaged...

What do you mean by 'format'. For that you need no program. Just highlight then right click on the stick in computer and format.
