USB Flash Drive Help

Hi there,

HELP!

The issue: Using a 8gb USB flash drive and I'm unable to access the files. I am able to see it as a removable device - however the name is now "removable device" as opposed to the actual name - I can see in the properties the storage capacity and what is left - but it says "empty"? :confused:

Did I somehow screw this thing up? Is there a way to get my files back?

I get the same result when I plug it into any computer.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Ziggy, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Unless the USB flash drive has some sort of secutity feature to prevent access built into it or installed on it, then you might see if taking ownership of the USB flash drive may allow you to have access afterwards.

Hi and thank you for your replies....tried the take ownership, when I right click on the drive does not give me this option. I do see this option now on other files in my computer though so it was successfully installed.

As for trying it in another usb port - yes - as well as other computers.
