Hello there, sometimes when i startup windows 7 and when i'm at desktop sometimes keyboard just wont respond at anything i type , i have to restart or unplug and replug it back to make it work temporary. Num Lock Light is On which propably means the problem isn't at USB Port, got keyboard connected at his port and near at it my mouse , mouse works - keyboard fails sometimes at windows 7 startup.

USB Ports 2.0
all Drivers are updated.
Problem happens on this one like 2-3 years of use,(Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000)

That is you best diagnostic test: try another keyboard on your computer. Let us know what you find.

Also: Try your keyboard on another computer.

You are plugging in your usb keyboard, usb mouse into a usb hub. If that's the case there maybe some power delay going on to the usb hub. I would plug usb keyboard/mouse directly into the usb ports of the mobo.

I had the same problem with a 4 port usb PCI card that I added to my system....then moved PC around and connected usb keyboard/mouse to the add on card....and it took upwards of 4 minutes to use my keyboard....I couldn't access my BIOS with delete key. Once I figured out the problem and moved usb connection to mobo...all worked as it should....

TVeblen my other computer is laptop, i have to try keyboard there too? >_> the problem is rare and i dont really use laptop..
i think the new keyboard on this one is enought for testing idk, waiting for your opinion.

No, it's best to test it on another desktop computer. Either at a friend's home or a family member, neighbor. I wouldn't test it on a laptop. Too complicated to start with.

Just keep testing the "new" keyboard on your desktop computer. If it works without problem after a week or two then you can assume the problem is in the "old" keyboard.

If you can find a willing desktop user, then have them use your "old" keyboard for a while to see if the same thing happens there (there is no danger of harm to their computer). If it does then you can assume that the "old" keyboard is the problem.

Hope that helps.

TVeblen, just a theory if the "old" keyboard dont have any problem with the other PC what does that mean?
remember that tested the "New" keyboard and works fine on my PC.
at the same USB port ofc.

Old : Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000
New: Wired Keyboard 600

also take a look here : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...ark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Page=3#scrollFullInfo

at the first post, the same problem, with this keyboard.

What I suspect is that the old keyboard will have the same problem on the other computer and this will prove that the keyboard, the cord, or the USB plug is defective.

Because if the old keyboard works fine on another computer and the new keyboard works fine on your computer then we will have to consider the possibility of Gremlins ;).

yes test finished for the new keyboard (Wired Keyboard 600) works perfectly on my PC.
Note: Tried Wired Keyboard 600 Works Perfect . This happens at Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 due to static charge build up alot reports at google for it , keyboard design seems to be faulty. There is a known problem which causes some keys to randomly stop working altogether. Search the web for "comfort curve 2000 static charge build up". Thread closed
