USB load failure on each system startup

I have a problem.
I recently bought Windows 7. Sometimes when I start my computer, the USB will not work at the login screen. No keyboard or mouse works.
If I get past the login, windows finds all my external hd's and starts to scan them. I think this is a problem with the USB.

This never happened in WinXP. Its like windows 7 "resets" the USB on each startup.

Can anyone help me on this?

Make sure you have all the latest hardware dirvers loaded, not from MS but from the respective vendors. If that doesn't work you can try updating your BIOS, sometimes this will work.

Thanks for your answer.
There is no newer BIOS versions and all my drivers are up to date. I guess Windows 7 and my motherboard does'nt like eachother. Windows 7 cant read that the CPU is overclocked either... :(
