Hey guys, this is probably the 8th or 9th forum website i post to, and im going a little crazy  after all these weeks of spending money and time figuring this out.

Every time i play a game, any game, a few minutes into it my USB ports in the back panel die. Either all of em, or most of them, this includes keyboard, mouse, USB modem, forcing me to hard reboot.

Ive troubleshooted EVERYTHING. By this i mean, ive purchased a Thermalteak 600W PSU as an upgrade, a new Geforce 560Ti graphics card (thinking it might be a graphics issue), and ran several tests on the RAM with no errors. Besides the hardware, ive upgraded windows updates, USB drivers, BIOS and chipset drivers, the works.

It's still happening. And its making me even more insane.

Well lets start with the most simple steps,

Is your pc have other usb ports? In front panel maybe?

If yes, connect mouse, keyboard, modem in different ports and start a game to see the results.

I know it looks very simple but let start with this first.

And if your still looking this post just refresh the page to see the new reply :)

Maybe i can skip this step for you, i plug in my iPhone and another phone to front panel, and when the USBs die, they stop charging, so the front panels die as well. Do you still wnat me to plug in the mouse/keyboard to the front?

No :)

Did you set motherboard bios cmos to factory default and try to play a game?

Did you tried to remove all the external usb hardware with there drivers and use other mouse and keyboard for playing games?

Did you tried to enable Driver Verifier and check for bad drivers?

You must enable minidump and then enable Driver Verifier.

Please read carefully these 3 links and backup everything before you run Driver Verifier.

http://carrona.org/setmini.html

http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lo...-driver-verifier-identify-issues-drivers.html

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/101379-driver-verifier-enable-disable.html

My opinion? Bad hardware (motherboard) or a bad driver.

The Driver Verifier <<create>> a bsod crash, that way we can have a minidump to analyze and more help to find the solution.

Hey, while i download/use Driver Verifyer, here is a BSOD.txt file i uploaded on other forums that also occurs with these USB failures. Ill post my results of Driver Verifyer soon.

You dont download driver verifier, you enable it in your windows

Please read again carefully, these 3 links and remember to backup everything and create a system restore point before you run Driver Verifier.

Set MiniDump

Using Driver Verifier to identify issues with Drivers

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

----------------------------
Then when you finish enabling minidumb and running driver verifier work as usual and wait for crash bsod to occurs, then disable driver verifier and,

Follow these simple steps and upload here the bsod folder

http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html

Take your time and read well and carefully all the tutorials then act.

Edit: I Noticed that in the bsod.txt you just uploaded

Caused By Driver : DB3G.sys

This is your Diamondback USB Optical Mouse Driver

So remove the mouse and the mouse software/driver,use other mouse and try to play.

Hey mate, I figured how to run it after I posted, I created a restore point, and enabled rebooted, and got BSOD, entered Safe Mode, removed it, etc.

Ok, i followed all your instructions, still crashing.

This is how i test by the way:

I click start, type in Performance Information and Tools, and i click "Re-run Assesment" it starts loading, and anywhere from 10-60 seconds, one of my USB devices stops working, mouse, keyboard, modem. Just thought ide let you know how i test.

I think the reason it works is because that feature runs through DirectX and uses my graphics card, as if im playing a game.

Anyway...yeah...still stumped

Disable the Driver verifier.

Upload the new bsod folder.

Also,

If you overclocked anything, cpu, ram, gpu set it back to factory settings.

Uninstall ATITool but before you do that,if you had made any changes, set nvidia back to default .
ATITool will only work on Windows 2000/XP/2003 and in many cases cause bsod.

Download and instal driver sweeper
http://phyxion.net/item/driver-sweeper.html

Download the most recent software/driver for your nvidia
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Uninstall nvidia software/driver,restart in safe mode, run driver sweeper to clean any remaining nvidia fragments, restart in normal mode.

Install the new nvidia software/driver.

Update DirectX.

Try to play and post back with the results.

Here is the updated BSOD folder.

The rest of the instructions will take a bit of time as the NVIDIA driver is 100mb, and where im from, that takes like 1-2 hours to download, and its late, so ill do what you said and let you know what happens, stand by!

Oh, and I didn't/don't Overclock anything on PC.

Ok i reinstalled the Nvidia drivers, DirectX, used driver sweeper just like you instructed me too.

I then tried "Performance and Information Tools" to test, it didnt finish successfully, BUT the USB's ports didnt die, so i went to MSconfig, disabled all except Microsoft services, restarted, and ran "Performance and Information Tools", it worked, it finished with no USB lockups or freezing.

So then, i tried playing WoW with all services Disabled, like 1 minute into it, PC froze, and restarted. Then I tried disabling all services except the Nvidia Drivers, and tried WoW again, about 5 minutes into it, USB's froze and a sec later, BSOD with code 0x000007F, which is the STOP code i always used to get.

I dont know what else to do man. :(

Your nvidia driver is still old from 2010.

Are you sure you follow these steps and you updated your nvidia? :)

>--> Download and instal driver sweeper
Phyxion.net - Driver Sweeper

>--> Download the most recent software/driver for your nvidia
Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

>--> Uninstall nvidia software/driver,restart in safe mode, run driver sweeper to clean any remaining nvidia fragments, restart in normal mode.

>--> Install the new nvidia software/driver.

>--> Update DirectX.

---------------------------------------------
The new minidump points to memory_corruption

So first finish with the above steps and the nvidia update,

Then run these 2 tests.

First http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html
Leave it running overnight!

Then run http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/160729-nvidia-video-card-test-occt.html
And post the results here.

In the case that the frequently bsod crash want let you to do anything, then ignore all the above steps and just run the memtest!

Hey m8, as i said, i would install the newer Nvidia drivers this morning, the BSOD attachment i posted in my last post was from last night, before i installed the new drivers.

Rest assured i did what you told me, and installed 280.26 Nvidia drivers this morning.

I ran memtest 2 days ago and left it for a good 6-7 hours. I cam back to it and it said "There were no Errors found, press Esc to reboot"

I will download http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/160729-nvidia-video-card-test-occt.html and post the results soon.

m8, im not going to run memtest86 again, i ran it 2 days ago for 7 hours, with NO errors. I'd rather not waste another 7 hours running the same test for the same results.
Im going to run OCCT now and let you know the results.

Ok :)

My advice though is to,

Run first the RAM - Test with Memtest86+ with one stick at a time.
And leave it running overnight! When you find a <<good>>ram test it in all the slots, test all sticks and all slots....(Read carefully all the tutorial) RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Because in many cases we need to run more hours the memtest for the right result.

Then Run Nvidia Video Card - Test with OCCT
And post here the results.
