USB printer cable not recongized

Hello,
PLZ urgently , I want to install a canon printer lbp2900 on a labtop with Windows 7 ultimate x64

When I plug it, I receive a message like USB device not recognize. I did try the USB port with a USB memory stick and falsh memory , and the USB port is functioning

This printer had worked before with this pc but windows home premium x64 but suddnely i had problem on it and i change the windows to ultimate x64 still not recongize and can't install printer driver to laptop ..
I did try the printer in another system windows ultimate x32 and had same problem .
But on windows xp it works correctly and installed the driver.
and i did all things to the port uninstall and re-install , power mangment from usb serial check remover but not works ...

What can i do to install it on my lap windows ultimate x64 ?

hmmm... do you have another usb cable, if so try that one and see if it makes a difference.

but the usb cable recognized only when i use another pc with windows xp but not recognized neither windows 7 x64 nor x32
i don't have another cable nw ..

just google it,(Canon printer lbp2900), it auto detects your system and the driver download is on the right hand side.

NOTE THIS DRIVER MUST BE INSTALLED IN COMPATABILITY MODE

sorry if it wasn't mentioned but i explained that the usb printer not recognized means the cable and the title of thread usb printer cable not recognized ,,, btw what i can do plz to recognize the usb printer cable to install the driver :/

Its a really old printer which is why i got it wrong.

You still have to download the driver i mentioned.

BUT first you will have to delete/remove any earlier drivers you have on your system, then reboot
Then install the driver.

could you also post the same as my screenshot (i dont have a linked printer) but you should have

Right so the printers not there, first of all go to the same screen where you made the screenshot,
RIGHT click on all but the One drive printer and remove them.

Install the driver in compatability mode (XP).

Then plug in your printer and goto the "add printer" (top left) select , it should then appear on your screen,
and hopefully It will be working.

If not Right click on the printer select troubleshooter.

i installed it manually without usb cable but still the main problem that the usb cable when connected printer sometime works and print well and sometime while printing suddenly error msg usb cable not plugged and stopped even the cable plugged already

In that case I'd say you need a new cable.
