usb stick detection problem

i got a problem with a usb stick, when plugged into computer i see the light on the stick turn on, and then off, and that's is. i thought it was finished, broken, untill i plugged it into a friends computer and it worked fine. i plugged it into the same computer on a different partition, same operating system, and the computer recognized it.
i went to computer management, kept an eye on what pops up when i plug it in, two things popped up, i updated the driver, nothing, i uninstalled the driver, plugged it in again, nothing.
any ideas would be appreciated.

above that in the entry disc drives - sandisc cruzer micro usb

bill your amazing. went to your link, at first i thought what am i going to see here, did all this stuff, like i mentioned above, at the bottom of the page there was an option Resolving drive letter conflict, clicked on the link, and was shocked that my usb drive showed up on the disc management, so i did as it said over there, changed the disc letter, and prest, back to normal.
