USB Stick

I'm sorry if I'm offtopic.

I have a problem. I used one stick on somebody's computer. When I try to use the stick on my laptop, the folders are coming in extension *.exe. These folders can not be opened anymore. There is anything that i can do to solve my problem????

Also Please run a full scan with your Anti-Virus

i'll update some pics
my antivirus found trojans in all the former folders






and also my antivirus managed to delete lot of folders. There are any chances for me to recover the deleted folders ?

Whatever Laptop or computer you placed the stick into had a Trojan which has been copied to the Drive

You may want to try Recuva to try and recover the contents of the folder but it may not work also after you have done with it fully Format the USB Drive

By Click Start>Computer

Then right click the USB Drive and clicking Format

After that ensure that "Quick Format" is UNCHECKED

Then click Start

thx i'll try recuva, but since the program will be installed after the damage was done there are any chances to recover smth? And after that the antivirus will delete again the folders, which can not be opened anyway

Recuva can only Recover Files not whole Folders and If you couldn't open the Folders the chance of Obtaining the files you need are slim

If the items are in your quarantine, turn off your protection momentarily and restore them. See if you can change the file extensions to what they were.

Addition to the above post if you do find them and want to change the extension you will need to Show File Extensions in Windows Explorer

i've just managed to do some recovering with recuva & tune up utilities, less than 30%. Any other programs which can be used for recovering?

Those are the ones that I would Recommend - Did you do a Deep Scan with Recuva

   Note

A Deep Scan may pick up some System Files that are written by Windows

I don't think there is anything else to do short of spending a lot of money for a professional recovery service.

Even a Professional Recovery might not work since the Trojan affected the files in the first place

Please Make sure the drive is fully Formatted when you are finished with the drive
