Try this; http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/165554-usb-driver-general-fix-problems.html?filter[2]=Hardware%20and%20Drivers
At the end it says; 7. Connect a USB device, but not the one you were having trouble with this will make a new INFCACHE.1 In your case you should be able to insert any working device.

In addition I would normally recommend updating BIOS and Chipset, but I have already looked for you and seen that there is no recent Chipset driver and also no windows 7 support which may just leave you to live with this problem :(

One thing I've noticed here - ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Motherboards- ASUS P5W DH Deluxe is that the site list no drivers for Windows 7

That's "might" be an issue.

What is interesting though is that the chipset is a 975X chipset which does support Window 7 - I have an Intel 975x board (D975XBX2) and the USB 2.0 ports work fine on 7 with SP1 installed, so.....

The other thing I notice is that there are no issues shown in this screenshot......

With that said, have you looked to see if there is a BIOS update for your board?

Hi there
note that sometimes if you have USB 1 and USB 2 devices on the same "string" or USB port for example a USB printer and a disk then the USB devices attached to that port will operate at the SLOWEST speed

The computer will normally prompt you however by issuing a message saying this device can operate at a higher speed if you connect it to a different USB slot.

in this case just move it to a different USB slot.

Cheers
jimbo

Good point Jimbo. I'll also add that cables can be an issue as well - if you're using an old USB 1 cable for example. With that, try switching cables and see if it helps.

BTW I just tried my USB 2.0 WD Passport hard drive on my 975x system and there were no issues/warnings.

You shouldn't be messing with any voltages you don't understand. And that voltage setting shouldn't have anything to do with the issue of your USB ports running at 1.0 speeds.

I would highly suggest you visit a Asus forum and post your issue there. I would also suggest you give Asus tech support a call to see what they have to say about the issue.

My two cents.
