USBs not working on W7 64

I was reading on here about a solution a moderator (I believe) had found to the USB drives not working in Windows 7. I was prematurely interrupted while reading his solution and cannot seem to find it. The thread read something like "USB Connection - not working???." Could anyone possibly help me with who wrote it? I'd describe my question but I'd rather just read his solution.

Thank you.
