Use DigitalRiver Pro key for windows anytime upgrade

I confirm that you can windows anytime upgrade from Home Premium (even not yet activated) to Professional using Digital River product key (of course for Professional edition).

The process takes less than 10 minutes and you don't need the Professional or Anytime Upgrade DVD. All the installed programs are intact.

I have home 7 key .. student edition .. but I am unable to find pro key .. to upgrade my win ..

I am not clear on this still, but it keeps coming up:

Windows Anytime Upgrade is a special one-time thing that unlocks features using a key you buy on that website, right? No install, just unlock.

So is the key they sell a standard retail upgrade key for that specific version? Several here have said they used retail keys from various legit sources.

If this is the case, then what is illegal about it? They paid for that version and got it.
