Hello all....

I'm just wondering what all of you are running (if at all) your UAC at? Post and let us know.

I have mine set at "full"; slider all the way up. I've seen from experience over at x64 that it's a bad idea to operate with it disabled...
People that (supposedly...) know what they're doing getting infected!

I've found that leaving it at the default setting feels a lot like using tweakUAC, but with more info. They've done well with adjusting the UAC

I agree. It is nice to have a choice of UAC security levels. Plus, to not have to restart for them to be applied.

With all that I've been doing; I've completely disabled it for a time to see if things were easier to do without the prompts. I will enable it again to full on....

Both times I've disabled it I've had to restart for it to take effect. Maybe it's just mine.

You are correct Ted. You only need to restart if turning UAC off or on, and not while just adjusting the level while UAC is still on.

UAC Dis'd

It really depends on what you run on your computer.
I run a few programs that I need to start a BootUp, and with the UAC enabled and at any mode some of my apps will not start at bootup.
Example; SysInternals Process Explorer, Run As Admin, to get full functionality, will not start at BootUp,
CommView to run at Boot Up will not start.

To be able to monitor and analyze the OS activities I need to see what is happening.
Once Win 7 is released, I will probably have learned enough about it to make the setting I need for my use.
