Solved User account, help please

Hi everyone, my name is CJ im 14 and from the Philipines. I am new here at the forums and I really love reading lots of tutorials. I am new in windows 7 and I am not that familiar but I am familiar with windows xp.

Anyway, My question in regards with my windows 7 home premium sp1 x64 laptop. I have two user accounts, 1 administrator (cjcob) and the 1 cj7 which is a standard user. My question is, if I create another admin account (cj1) and delete my main account which is (cjcob) and all files in it, can windows 7 let me create another admin account with the same name (cjcob) that I already deleted?

I am asking this question sir because in win xp, once a user account is deleted I belive It wont make me create another user account with the same name. Or is it possible? If it aint possible, can I follow the guide here www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/147545-user-profile-folder-change-user-account-folder-name.html and rename the folder then rename my account then delete it, would it be possible to create a new (cjcob) main account again?

I am sorry for my english if I am a bit confusing, I just hope someone could help me. Thank u, all help is highly appreciated.

Hello CJ, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Is there an issue with your current "cjcob" for why you are wanting to delete it, and basically create another one with the same name?

Maybe we can get that issue fixed so that you will not need to go through all of that.

Hi sir Brink, thank u for replying. Yes I am having an issue with my current cjcob admin account and want to delete all files. I have installed many software before and uninstalled them, clean my registry with remnants of them but it seems slower now compared to my cj7 standard account and compared with cj1 newly admin account i created.

So is it possible to create cjcob again if i delete it and all the files in it? Or should i rename the folder first using ur tutorial sir, tweaking reg then renaming my main account then delete? Will that help? Can u give me steps if its okay sir. Thank u

You could, but you should enable the built-in Administrator account, and log on to it to delete the current cjcob account.

Before you do this below, I would recommend that you create a restore point first. This way if you make a mistake, you could just do a system restore with this restore point to undo it.

After you have deleted the account, make sure that the "C:\Users\cjob" folder has also been deleted. In addition, double check the registry location below to make sure that you do not have a long numbered SID key for the cjob account. If so delete it, restart the computer, and log on to the built-in Administrator again.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

1. In the left pane of regedit, expand Profilelist, and select each long number S-1-5-.... key one by one to see if one has the user account name (ex: cjob) in the Data column of ProfileImagePath in the right pane.

2. If one does, then right click on the long number S-1-5-.... key for the user account (ex: cjob), and click on Delete and Yes.

When there's no trace of the old cjob account left, you should be able to create a new administrator account with that name again.

Thank u so much for giving me a guide on how to fix it, I really do appreciate it a lot because been searching the net for a solution but I cannot find one. I'm glad I did post my problem here at the forum. Btw I have one question sir before I mark this as Solve, can this method be applied also to a windows xp sp3 32bit or only in windows 7? I asked because if it happens to my other laptop I will know what to do.
