Hi there,

a few weks ago I installed a program that came from a newsgroup.
after installing it I received a warning from Microsoft Security Essentials that there was a Trojan Horse treat.
I removed the program, and made an deep scan, which deleted the trojan horse.
Now I still have the problem that I cannot set the User Account setting to the normal protection. If I set it to normal protection and close that window, after re-opening it, the setting is set back to no protection.
Can anyone help me, it must be a setting in the register, but I cannot find it.
I aprieciate any good suggestion..
Thanks to you in advance.

Hi and welcome to Seven Forums jodoti.
First a bit of advice, stay away from newsgroups for software, many are riddled with people wanting to take your info or compter or worse.
Secondly download Malwarebytes Anti Malware Free, run the update and do a full scan of your system. While MSE is a good program, no single one will clean everthing. After this is done, POWER OFF the computer for 5-10 minutes, removing any power cables. Then restart and try your UAC settings again.
