Hi I recently finished paying of my computer to radio rentals and I thought it was time to clean the computer. I have a acer aspire 5750g laptop and my erecovery won't work. I did manage to restore it to factory settings but it would not let me name my computer. I think they have done somthing to stop people from rebooting but who wants a computer called radio and when i go to c: i can see a lock symbol on radio account i can open it Is there anything I can do to remove this account and make my own. It just feels strange knowing that someone can access your computer at anytime. When I have tried to google about radio rentals I read a lot of stories about a red screens and that they have locked the computer. Really need some help please would like a fresh computer.

Welcome to the Seven Forums, Grouch84.

I suggest that you download an ISO image of W 7 64-bit installation Disk from Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River « My Digital Life. If your OS is not among the ones listed at this site then you shall have to download and run eicfg Removal Utility to make the ISO universal and then burn it to a DVD to make your own W 7 Installer Disk.

You can then clean install it on your Acer Laptop and activate the OS with the current Product Key that is also stuck on a label on your Laptop's base. Keep all your device drivers (particularly the Network Drivers (Ethernet and Wi-Fi)) handy as a few of them may or may not get installed.

After that you shall be able to do everything that you are not able to do now.

Good luck.

Do I then just put the disk in and let it load. Or should I Fdisk it? I am just a little unsure how to Fdisk properly been a while I sort of remember something about partitioning the drives. Thanks for the advise

There is no need to run fdisk for partitioning. If you need to partition your hard disk again then it may be best to use either the Partition Wizard Boot Disk or Acronis Disk Director Boot Disk. Far simpler to partition in this manner than with fdisk. Partition Wizard is freeware and Disk Director is shareware.

You can use the W 7 Installer Disk to clean Install the OS like you would from any other W 7 Retail Disk and also use its partitioning ability if you want.
