Hi,

Sorry for my bad english...

This is my problem :
I have a HP Probook 5310m with Win 7 Pro 32 bits.
I've been using it for 6 months without a problem.

Yesterday, when i tried to connect (after hibernation), my password was rejected. I tried to make a second and third attempt with ware : same. I know my password, it's the same as the password of network access of my company. After that, the user was locked! :(
-> I don't know why my password was rejected, really don't!

Unfortunately, i did'nt enabled the Administrator account!
So now : i really don't know how to fix this huge problem (for me)!

HP told me to swith off the CMOS battery, but i'm really not sure this is a good solution.

Anybody has an idea?

Many Thanks

Vincent

If this is a company owned PC, contact your company's IT pro. If it's your windows user account login password, clearing the CMOS won't do any good. It may just make things worse.

Towards the bottom of this page there is a download link for Ultimate Boot CD. Using whatever computer you are on, download that and burn it.

Use the CD to boot onto the computer you can't login to, and follow these instructions.

I know its for XP, but we've used it on 7 here at work.

You're the boss Kirsch!

Hi Kirsch!

I've just fixed my problem yesterday! I was missing a portable USB DVD reader.
So, i followed instructions :
+ Download the Ultimate boot CD
+ Build a boot CD/DVD from a XP computer
+ Burn the ISO
+ Start from this boot CD on my computer (the problem was, no portable DVD reader, there is no DVD reader in this thin computer)
+ As indicated, i have tried the simple program to Unlock my user (and unlock Admin too) and change the password (first try : put a password, it does not work, second try, put no password)
+ And it worked! I've put passwords for my user and Admin.

Many many thanks! Kirsch! This is incredible because it's very simple (just need the right tools...).

:D

Hello docmulder, welcome to Seven Forums!

Make a bookmark to the tutorial at the link below for future needs; it would be a good idea to do Option One now as it can be very useful if needed.
