I just made a custom Install.wim using a guide found here in Windows 7 forum, but now I can't delete the dir that I created to unpack install.wim into. I unpacked it with dism command, but not even after a reboot, the folder is undeleable.

How do I get rid of it again? (e:\rc\"unpacked install.wim") :o

It did not work. Still can't delete it.
After taking ownership, I looked in properties and Administrator has full rights, looked in advanced, and could see it is valid for folder and subfolders. starting CMD, run as administrator, writing e: [enter] writing rd rc /S [enter] (rc is the name of the folder I wnat to delete). I tries every file, but none is deleted, after each filename is added "access denied".

Now what?

After following the guide of taking ownership in Vista, I'm still lost ... almost. I can now take ownership of every single file, ono by one, change permissions, again one by one, and then delete them.
But there are over 11000 files!!!! Is it not possible to do this for a complete folder and subfolders?
I have tried both ways, windows and a cmd as described in the guide.

I've seen occasions where I had to delete everything inside a folder in order to be able to delete the folder. Never bothered to investigate why.

Here's what you can try. Click on your folder, go to properties and so on, the way you take ownership and change permission. Repeat this but make sure you click the box at "do the same for all child objects" (or something like that). This will change the permissions the way you want on all files in your folder. Then delete all those files - you can select all of them and delete them all at once. Then try to delete your folder.

If this does not work, then you can go into the safe mode, invoke the built-in administrator account and then delete the folder.

None of these 2 thing worked out. I will now install WindowsXP on another harddisk and then try and use XP to delete it.

Why the .... has MS made it so it can completely lock it self out??
