"User profile error" that won't won't accept changes

I am having difficulty with the User Profile Error.

The computer will boot, but goes into the temporary profile.

I've followed the other forums' recommendations.
I enter the "Safe Mode."
I access the Registry Editor (note: in the search bar, it won't find the regedit path, I have to search through the "help and support" section to access the Registry Editor. A small nuance/annoyance, but it might be pertinent).
I delete the ".bak" extension. Just the extension, not the profile.
I set the values on the 2 profile files to "zero." The names of the files eludes me at this second.

When I restart the computer, it loops back. Same problem. "User profile error."
I restart in "Safe Mode" and it is like I did nothing. Why is it doing this?
How do I fix it?
How do I reclaim my computer?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Honestly your best bet now is to create a new admin authorized user account and migrate.
Fixing this properly could take a massive amount of trial and error.


...then again you could get lucky.
New account is the quickest fix.
If it comes out damaged, then we may have a larger problem.

Unfortunately, neither approach worked. The new profile is placed in a temporary status. As such, I can't access the documents for the profile. Or even download new programs.

This is very frustrating. Keep the suggestions coming.

If you have not already, you might see if doing a system restore at boot using a restore point (if available) dated before you got this error may help.

If that doesn't help, then were you able to enable and use the built-in Administrator account in the STEP ONE section from below?

I've tried the system restores. They won't take. It still loads the settings with no profile.

I tried creating the new admin user account. Same problem.

Barring that finding any problems, the only thing I can imagine is you or some software you have used has changed user/admin permissions. The new account should have created from the system template. The fact it's having trouble as well is honestly quite interesting. I wish I had physical access to the machine I could probably hash it out with a few hours of digging, unfortunately as I eluded to in my first post here I just can't think of a way to walk you through all of the things I would plan on doing without writing a small book.

Yeah, sorry if you've tried everything brink has suggested with no success I don't know anymore written out methods we have.

Have you tried attempting a repair install?
Kind of a shotgun blast approach but hopefully it will return the user account states to normal.

I tried the "repair" from the safe mode.
It is actually reading my recovery partition as blank. More frustration.

Sorry, but you cannot do a repair install at boot or in Safe Mode. It can only be ran from in Windows.
