User Profile Failed Login

Hi All,

Need a little advise. My friend is currently having issue's logging in to her laptop. She has the message box "The User profile Service failed login. User profile cannot be loaded"

I've looked this up, and it seems to be about a profile going into backup mode. Now, i've followed the various instructions about going in finding the duplicate profile files and renaming them, however, my main issue is that it's the main administrator account as well as one other account that is bringing up this error. As i cannot get into the main adminstrator account that option didnt work. I can boot into safe mode, and after a little back and forthing can get into the adminstrator account, however, as soon as i attempt to alter anything or even enable the built in adminstrator account, its asking for the main adminstrator accounts password, which upon entering throws out the error again.

The laptop has been in use for but a few months, there's no restore disk either, so any help would be appriciated.

alas, this was the guide i followed to no avail! I couldnt change any of the profile keys because i couldnt get into an adminstrator account without the need to enter the password and the failed message reappearing.
Same situation for the safe mode boot.. hence the question!

In that case, have you tried Last Known Good Configuration? See http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/666-advanced-boot-options.html

It will also help us to know the make and model number of the laptop in question. There might be some information at the manufacturer's website.

thanks, i'll give that a try! im sure i'll be back if i run into anything else with a mates computer which needs fixing.
