I am following the tutorial for the "User Profile Service failed the logon..." problem. I get to steps 4 and 5. However, I can't see anything that says "code:". Also, in the left pain I only see HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and not Code: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion.
There are S-1-5 numbers, but none ending in .bak or .bk.
No matter what I click on there is nothing in the right pane, but "Default" and something else, but nothing that you've said should be there.
At this point I am unable to do either a system restore or delete the profile.
Can you help anymore?

I tried that last night. I tried again just now and this is what I get when I get to System Restore on the new Administrator account:
Windows has detected file system corruption on OS(C:). You must check the disk for errors before it can be restored.

Then it gives the options to: check disk for errors.
When I do that it says: Windows can't check disk while it's in use.
Do you want to check for hard disk errors the next time you start your computer?

Then there is the option to cancel or schedule disk check.
I check the box for the disk check, but nothing happens when I start up or shut down the laptop. Any suggestions from here.
