Solved User Profile Service won't start

Right now I'm sitting at the desktop of the main account. There really wasn't anything that was changed with the partial repair process.

First, I had already renamed the user through the wmic command earlier in the thread, and the administrator account was already activated. So, I went and deleted the SID and restarted.

First, the account is still listed when I get to the logon screen. Second, when I log into the admin account I still can't access the control panel or anything like any other accounts that I've tried to create. Third, after trying to log back into the account that's still there, I'm guessing since I deleted the SID key, I no longer can access the command prompt or anything on that account, either. It looks like the computer is not making any SIDs at all when a new account is logged in. But, now I can't even do anything through the command prompt, so I think my only real option is to go with a clean install.

A SID only gets created once the user account name logs in . Looks like our best bet is to do a clean install ? Do you have a Windows 7 installation disc ?

I can log into all of those accounts. It's just that an SID isn't created when it should be.

But yes, I have an install disk.

Thanks. I was using Brink's guide, but that one you just linked looks like it has different information I can use.

It shows you how you could get a clean installation without the OEM bloatware . Use the key that is underneath the laptop as it says in the tutorial created by Greg .
