Greetings,

I'd like to ask you, how can I rename the location of my data and my data folder. I changed my PC username, name of the PC, but that folder remained unchanged.

It's 'C:\\Users\ssdevious' and let's say, I want to change that 'ssdevious'. In that folder we're trying to rename is the following: Contacts, Desktop, Downloads, Favorites, Links, My Documents, etc.

Best Regards,
SS-Totenkopf

This will cause user Profile Problems and Registry problems I would Seriously not recommend you renaming the folder

The Simplest Way I would do is to Make a new account and Transfer the Files Manually

Hope This Helps,
Josh

Greetings,

not really. If I do create a new account, can I delete the old one? I don't want to have multiple accounts. Of course, once I did rename it on XP and it messed up with my files, point is, it probably even can't be edited on Windows 7. I'm just looking for a way to get rid of that account.

Greetings,

I did actually change the username in control panel, I can do it over and over again, it's no big deal and it's easy. However, the folder which is supposed to be linked with the username doesn't change. Probably a glitch, because if it's on dick C: and in folder named Users, I'd expect, it's directly linked to it, but it looks like, it's not. I can change the username, but the folder stays same - unchanged.

Best Regards,
SS-Totenkopf

The naming of the user folder is final when a user has logged in first time. If your username was AAA when you created your user account and logged in to that account first time, the folder name is always going to be AAA even if you change your username to BBB. Read more here.

By the way, I am not sure if it's against forum rules but personally I have to say I really resent how you sign your posts. It really shows incredible bad taste and judgement from your side to use the name of the nazi military unit that was directly responsible of administrating concentration camps. If your intention is to be funny, you fail. Because of this, I am adding you to my ignore list so I do not have to see your posts anymore.

Very sincerely,

Kari

Greetings,

thank you, especially for the redirection. It helped. Actually a lot more than relies such as: "lol". Some people feel just a weird urge to express their opinions and reactions, however in this case, it's a waste of space. It's called spam. Always cheerful, when you visit a support forum and get and answer of that kind, e.g. "lol" or "rofl". Kari's 2nd part of the post better left without a comment. Not blaming you buddy, being good at IT doesn't necessarily mean, you own all the world's wisdom. Just FYI., my name ain't really anymore 'Nazi' than yours, but who cares. People like you'd probably call even that car, Chevrolet-SS it is, as a 'Nazi' car, but that's just an off-topic. Thanks for the help once again.

Best Regards,
SS-Totenkopf

It seems I forgot to unsubscribe this thread and put you to ignore list. Doing it now.

A name of the car including letters ss, or initials S.S. of one of my best friends do not refer to nazis. But the name you use to sign your posts is a direct reference to something that should in my opinion not be allowed. This is the meaning of the name you have decided to use as your signature: 3rd SS Division Totenkopf - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Well said Kari. Everybody knows the connotations of that name. Whether just tasteless or seeking to provoke; well worth ignoring.

Greetings,

to be honest, do you see somewhere in my name, avatar or signature '3rd' or 'Division'? The answer is no. There's no context. You can only assume that based on some further unspecified hunch of yours and the fact that Totenkopf is in German, but nobody denies that. Doing the same, what you do, looking at johnwillyums and based on Karl Marx in his signature, I could say, he's associated with the Marxists and there's of course a connection to Communism, Russia, show trial, executions, etc. But why would I do that? I don't care and I don't know the reason and all the details, while you - based on 2 rather random letters and a German name - show me as some 'Nazi', which is rather a little bit silly. If I told you that the initials actually are meant to link to that 'Nazi' group, than fine, but too bad for you, I've never said anything like that.

And thus it brings us to a conclusion, which is this. Better stay on-topic, this is a support forum for Windows platform and not a discussion club about which letters mean what. I'd personally stick to Shadow Scopes a.k.a. SS. An old on-line game team tag. Believe it or not, we're not members of NSDAP at all. Just to make it clear, so you can finally sleep well, while knowing that you're not stalked by some secret 'Nazi' assassins. And finally, I must agree with johnwillyums. If you don't have anything to say, rather ignore these things, it'll only lead to embarrassing situations like this one.

Thank you for understanding.

Best Regards,
SS-Totenkopf
