Hi,

Can someone tell me which pages I see while logging on to my msn.com email page are supposed to be secure (https)? Even when I begin from the MSN page (http) linked from a Google search for MSN, my email page is not encrypted. And while logging in, I show the default anonymous user pic, not the photo which I've supplied. Also, after I've logged in I get a message that the page is encrypted but that the info is also being sent to an unsecured page where someone can read my login details. In my contacts list, I see 3 contacts with my correct info, one has my pic. I also have an account on the list shown as my real[email protected], with a drop-down to my msn.com acct. I've tried without success to bring up the account with my user photo, which I used to get. I've seen only the default avatar on my login page (even when it fills in my email address and I proceed to my inbox after submitting my correct password). I've given my password to only one person, someone whom I trust with it.

I also just this morning got two emails from someone on my contact list (no other message included, just the links), both to pages selling a list of Viagra and related meds. Both appeared to be the same page, but one was on domain bittermanifesto, the other antiqueeden. I can think of no reason that he would have sent these (they were both emails to a batch of addresses, and I'm not entirely certain of this but I believe he works during the day at a place where he does not have access to his email). Several times I've sent emails to close friends and received no replies, uncharacteristic of them.

Other than these incidents I've not noticed signs of possible email hijacking/redirection, but of course the page looks entirely genuine (as I'm sure it would). I have Firefox set to inform me of page redirects. I'm going to email those non-responding friends to see whether they received my emails and/or replied. I am certain that none of their replies end up in my email junkbox.

I'll PM my email URL to an Administrator of the forum if required.

Thanks,
papilio

Just got an email back from the alleged sender of the Viagra links, he did NOT send them. I asked him to reply to my reply, including some info which nobody besides the two of us should know.

Thanks roncerr, you're right of course, that gives me https all the way through. Still not getting the avatar photo but I'm guessing that's a Windows Live thing -- anyway, that in itself was not my concern.

Any thoughts on which computer's email account is probably hacked, mine or the friend from whom I got those two emails with the links? He didn't send them of course but did say that the other peoples' addresses listed in the group mailing were indeed some of his contacts.

Thanks again!

I would think something was wrong if you didn't get any Viagra emails.
