Solved using bootable disk

First, I am trying to find out if my understanding is correct:
If autorun is not enabled for a CD/DVD player, the player will not run a bootable disk. Additionally, Safe Mode does not load drivers for the CD/DVD player. Is that correct?

Second, if the above is true I am wondering about a way to boot from a CD/DVD in the above scenario:
What is the procedure to boot from the removable media?

Autorun is within the OS which is not functioning when booting a Disk.

It's the SATA or IDE controller driver which controls the optical drive, and it will be loaded in any mode including Boot Mode.

Thanks for the info. I am teaching myself as many "techie" topics which have real world applications as possible. The most recent ones I am working on are recovering and/or resetting Windows passwords and cracking passwords. (This was prompted by a firend who had to pay a shop $69 to reset his [forgotten] Windows password.)

The necessity to use bootable disks for some of the solutions, coupled with the fact that I have autorun disabled for all my removable media on my machines prompted the question.

Make a Password Reset disk to be able to do this in case you're ever locked out.

Insert a USB flash stick, type Create Password Reset in Start Search box.

I have done that for the only machine here at home which is password protected. I have tested it and found that it works as intended. It was good practice for opportunities to use them in real life.
