Using DVI splitter to get video on two monitors

I just wanted some advice because I have never done this before. We just bought some new Lenovo Edge laptops for work and also bought USB 2.0 Port Replicators with Digital Video Part number: 0A33942 to use with them. Our other setup was a Lenovo L512 with a Mini dock which the L512 has been discontinued. My question is can I use a DVI-to-dual DVI or VGA to display the video to two 22" monitors? How will windows recognize the monitors and what about performance? Some people here like the screen so small that I can barely read it and others like it large enough to read it from 10 feet away. The only thing that they are used for is Internet browsing and document viewing. Nothing graphic intensive. Any thoughts?

A Video Graphics Array (VGA) Y-splitter cable enables simultaneous display of the same image from a TV screen to another monitor, from a laptop to a PC monitor, or from one PC to two separate monitors within a short distance. In the latter cases, however, you may need a better video card to support a higher resolution.
