Solved Using Microsoft Wallpaper

Does anyone know if it's allowed to use Microsoft desktop pictures for other purposes? For example, putting the Northern Lights wallpaper on your personal homepage? Do you need to ask permission, or is it ok to just use it?

You can always play it safe and post credits for the images on your page,
Not sure what your really referring to as a Home page ?
This would be your website for business ?
Or like a facebook page ?

Yeah, in fact it's "about.me" It's a little info page about you. not a blog or anything, just real basic info.

I think it highly doubtful that Microsoft would permit your usage. Most likely it would be a violation of the terms of service. You could ask but the answer is likely to be no. There are all kinds of images on the Internet that can be legally used for your purposes.

As long as you post creates for the file I doubt it's a big deal all of these images on any search engine are copy writed
And that usually applies to selling them for profit or using them as a company logo where you make money or financial gain in anyway.
Otherwise there is no loss to the creator they knowingly posted on the internet and your giving them create where credit is due.
Don't hide the credits if they were smart they would have a watermark on the image.

as long as you didnt download them from microsoft, if they are on your pc then they are yours
