I'm leaving on a trip this week and I'll be taking my laptop which runs Windows XP Professional. I am wanting to know if I can access my desktop computer at home which runs Windows 7 Ultimate with remote desktop.

Yes, I believe you can access it. I have done it using XP to Win 7 Professional, so I know that works. I would sure test it before you leave though. If it does not work, I would strongly suggest TeamViewer. This application is amazing. It works every time and lag free. I used this program last week from 400 miles away and it worked flawlessly. You have a unique ID and password and can log in from anywhere at any time. Here is the site, take a look.

TeamViewer - Free Remote Access and Remote Desktop Sharing over the Internet

If I helped, please send some Rep!!! Thanks!
