Solved using safemode to start image recovery

if i boot start into safe mod would i still be able to run a image recovery from my portable hdd where my image recovery is

i take it i have to leave my recovery cd in because when i take it out and only leave my portable hd it says bootmgr is missing

edit: ok so i cant run in safemode it just shows a black screen with safemode in all 4 corners and when i click or push a butten anywhere it brings a recovery manager popup and 2 options run from disk and run from harddrive. ive tried both and nothing

You could use your retail Windows 7 installation disc or System Repair Disc to do step 3 in the STEP TWO section of the tutorial posted above to be able to do a system image recovery from a created system image backup.

retail as in came with it or bought then i dont have one. i only have system recovery that i copied before my old hdd went bad
