then could i just plug the converter into the hdd and plug the sata lead from it in my sata 1 slot!

Use the IDE cable, set jumpers correctly: HD as Master, DVD as Slave.

im not sure i used the top part of the ide lead for dvd ,is that master?my hdd i use at min is connected using sata lead to mobo!dvd drive is connected using ide

i just slap the drive in and used gaming ide lead to it and connected other end to mobo!

Incorrect.

As stated repeatedly, the HD set first to boot in BIOS will determine that.

The IDE jumper settings are only to differentiate the IDE HD from the OD in the BIOS.
