Using SSD for OS only

I wish to use my SSD for Windows 7 64bit, and use my hdd for libraries, programs etc. Is this possible?

Yes and no.

It depends on if the program gives you the option to select where to install it to other than the default "Program Files" folder on the Windows drive.

Libraries stay on the Windows drive. However, the folders you include in the libraries can be wherever you like. For example, create a folder on your HDD, save your files in this folder, then include this folder in a library of your choice.

Hello and welcome to the forums.

Yes it is possible, pretty much all programs have a custom/advanced install option which allow you to designate where you want it to be installed.
And you can create your own folders/libraries on the hdd with shortcuts to open them etc.

I have all my games on Steam installed on a HDD and my OS and most used programs on my SSD.

I dragged the data folders in my default libraries from my SSD to a spinner without problems. I did make shortcuts of those folders and put them back in the user folder on the SSD incase I was ever in that folder and needed to get to the library folders (haven't used the shortcuts yet, though; I never even go into the user folder anymore).

I preferred keeping my program folders on the SSD so the programs could take advantage of the SSD's speed when opening. They open in a flash that way.
