I have found that in order to use the "Stereo Mix" recording option, I have to have my speakers set as the default playback device. I have a USB headset that I use and I was wondering if there was a way to set that as my default playback device and still have my Stereo Mix pick up sound?

Unless the USB headset has its own control panel similar to the Realtek or Creative ones, then no as a USB headset in no way uses the drivers or features of a sound card.
