I am having the same problem many have noted with the system crashing after uTorrent has been running a while. Also with BitTorrent, qBittorrent and Halite.

McAfee is a frequent cause of BSOD-s, consider uninstalling it with the McAfee Removal Tool and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials (To test)

Microsoft Security Essentials.
Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability compared to other antiviruses/internet security software. It is free and lightweight:-
   Warning
:ar: Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.

Perform a System File Check:
  1. Click on the start :orb:
  2. Type CMD on Search
  3. Left click and Run as Administrator
  4. Type SFC /scannow

I never liked McAfee, being an old Norton fan, but the machine had it pre-installed.

Thanks.

Like I already said in my first post. Uninstall McAfee, with its removal tool. Install MSE & MBAM.
Make full scans with both separately.

is it bad to run multiple antivirus programs?

Reduce items at start-up. Nothing except anti-virus is required:

Similar issue - uTorrent consistently crashing

Hi all, I keep getting a similar error, with the error message appearing not longer after starting the application:

"utorrent has crashed a crash dump has been saved".

I've followed your instructions, with relevant files attached, have done a Malwarebytes scan, and am doing a scan with Microsoft Security Essentials, and a Check Disk to follow.

I did the SFC scans, and as you can see in the cmd.exe window, it found corrupt files, but was unable to fix them. What do you think is the best thing to do next?
