Vaio function keys and microphone

I have just done a clean install of Windows 7 on my Vaio VGN TZ16GN. Most things are working well now however I am stuck on getting the function keys (screen brightness and volume control) to work, and the internal microphone isn't working (with Skype or speech recognition) either. Any suggestions?

Initally both the camera and mousepad were not working correctly either however updating the drivers (vista ones) from the Sony-Asia website solved this.

Hi Encey,
I think it must be drivers too. Try to find 32 or 64 bit drivers (which one your win 7 is).

FZ21Z thanks so much for your reply. I will work through the steps in the other thread. Some of the drivers mentioned I have already downloaded and got working however as a non-geek I am not always sure how the drivers and devices are labelled so it is hard for me to make the correct match.
By the way, I installed the 32 bit version of Windows 7- should have written that in my original post.
CassieFWinTeam: good idea re the Windows updates - I will check that this is turned on.

Windows 7 Update is on and everything is updated. I have used the site mentioned by FZ21Z. Still no success because when I try to download the drivers the 'wise install' checks my system and then gives the error message that this driver is not meant for my system. I have disabled UAC, and also tried running in adminstrator and in compatibility mode (but maybe I'm doing something wrong with compatibility mode)
Any other suggestions/advice?
(I also discovered that along with volume and brightness function keys, my SD card slot is not recognised)

Try the drivers from this page - http://www.sony-asia.com/vgn-tz36sn

And you need to have installed....

Shared Library
Event Service
Setting Utility Service &
Vaio Control Centre....

for the function keys ect to work, but that isn't to say they are going to, and this is a common problem for us Vaio users. Some get them to work, (myself included but have since removed the above as I don't use them) and some don't.
