I am seemingly having a similar issue to whats described in the following thread...
http://www.sevenforums.com/windows-updates-activation/96465-invalid-key-good-4-23-till-7-710-a.html
However, I did not buy my copy of Windows from Ebay!
I bought it from a an eRetailer company called eCrater.com whom was listed on Google shopping. They advertise that they are a certified Microsoft reseller; though they appear to be another type of community of sellers, similar to Ebay. They advertise that their sellers, can import their products from Ebay... However they did not advertise this when I bought my software. So I suppose it is possible that the vendor from whom I purchased may have also sold on Ebay though I did do a search on Ebay for them and did not find them.
eCRATER
I bought this copy of Windows on March 11th!!
When I received my copy of Windows, I CALLED Microsofts Genuine Advantage hotline, which is the phone number they advertise on their MGA Website, for Licensing and Activation questions.
I spoke with them and asked them about eCrater.com, asked about the certified reseller claims on the vendor I was purchasing from, and I gave them my License code, and I was told BY MICROSOFT, that my copy of Windows is 100% legitimate and legal; and that I would never have problems with it!
Today, I woke up this morning to leave for work and I booted up my system to check online traffic reports and weather reports, and check my emails from last night. The system had restarted last night after downloading and installing two Windows Updates.
The system boots to my desktop, and suddenly popping up messages telling me that my Key is no longer valid.
I didn't have time to follow any of the prompts or go through any attempts to resolve the matter, as I said I was needing to leave for work which is where I'm at now.
I have had this copy of Windows for 112 days now, with no problems; and it has passed MGA before!
So, what are my options here? I am not in a financial position to conveniently buy another copy of Windows. I am going to have to downgrade my 64bit system back to my old 32bit copy of Windows XP Home!
