Various BSOD errors and can't recover from CD

Got one of my kids a new laptop for Christmas and having BSOD problems, bought it from an auction so can’t return it. It’s an ASUS X5DC, intel D220, with 3gb memory and 250gh HD. Its running Widows 7 64 bit OEM. I set it up before Xmas and loaded AVG, Superantispyware and Firefox which we all prefer, it was OK at first but started to give BSOD errors after some on line games were installed (Puzzle Pirates and Grand Fantasia) the kids have played these for some time on other machines with very little problem. There have been a number of errors including “IRQL not less or equal to” and “page fault in nonpaged area”. I was able to boot in safe mode and removed the new software hoping to clear the fault but no luck, I then decided to use the Asus recovery disk as advised in some forums, I tried each option recover first partition, entire HD and entire HD with 2 partitions but none worked, got up to 63% once but then blue screened again with “IRQL not less or equal to”. Now can't use safe mode or anything other than booting from recovery CD so don't know how to access the dump files, not sure where to go next. Any help on how to make my 13 year old daughter happy again would be appreciated.
Thanks
Rob

Thanks, I did read the BSOD posting instructions earlier but I'm not sure how to access the information reqd or run the software which I have downloaded on another machine. I am unable to boot the laptop even in safe mode at the moment so I'm not sure how to access the dump files. I do have a bootable repair CD which I have used before to fix problems but I'm not sure if this will help.

Just tried the recovery disk again, still blue screens after around 30% but this time the message is different I'm getting stop error 0x0000008e. The fixes I've found for this all need the laptop to boot so I'm still stuck.
