Hi, I have not installed any new hardware nor made any (as I can recall) significant changes software-wise. Nevertheless the last couple days my work at the computer has been interrupted by various BSODs. I have looked around on the internet for a fix for my problems but have not encounterd anything that helped me. Any help is greatly apreciated!

Hi Radanle.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus, and if you need Speech Recognition there, keep it.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
If possible, update the BIOS to Version 1202 dated 2011/10/10 from ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P6T Deluxe V2.
Code:
BiosVersion = 0504
BiosReleaseDate = 05/19/2009
Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

Let us know the results.

I will do as you say and return, but I just wanted to point out that I don't get any blu screens at startup. I can usually use the computer for quite som time (sometimes hours) before it shuts down.

EDIT

Update of BIOS and changed auto-start programs. Experienced one BSOD right after :cry: , have attached another zip with old and new info so that you can compare changes.

I've had less bluescreens the last days, don't really know why. But I've started to notice a strange sound from the computer, probably from the hard drive, is there anything in the logs that indicate a hdd-problem? :)
