I am not a novice, but I'm almost ready to jump back to Vista x64 because of various little bugs I expect, but unfortunately, have no time/patience for dealing with right now...
My webcam doesn't show up in any apps. Normally it isn't a problem, but this is my wife and I's busy travel season and for the next several months, we both use Skype to stay in touch a lot... also, SoundMAX doesn't let my headphone's work from my front jack, either... both these worked just fine w/ Vista x64. I've upgraded and updated all drivers.
Anyway, I partitioned one of my drives and told Windows 7 (Ultimate x64 Build 7100) to install on the new partition at setup, but it didn't. It moved aside my Vista install and installed on my C drive. I guess this is the default? So, even though it didn't install with my programs like an upgrade would, it 'feels' like it's not a clean install.
I have an ASUS mobo, and while it may be an issue for ASUS to deal with, several of my utilities don't work at all.
In several programs and even in just trying to use 'preview' in some directories, I constantly get the 'you must have admin rights to perform this action' message! I log in as an admin and even in attempting to delete several things on my 4 hard drives, I get this message and despite setting the security to the right admin levels, it doesn't help and I'm still not able to delete things like old Windows installs, etc.
And finally, on a different matter, where would I post an OC guide I have for Core i7 cpu's here?
Thanks! You guys rock.
Oh, and the passwords thing is driving me nuts! It doesn't matter if I click on 'remember me' or anything else anymore... without using a password utility, I have to remember/re-enter my password on nearly every other website I'm registered on!
