Hi.

I've been using the RC for about a week now, and I have to say, I'm very impressed, and I really cannot wait for the full release.
Although, I have had some problems, and I was wondering if people have had the same.

First of all, I've been having alot of problems regarding BSOD's. The only BSOD i've been having is what I've pulled up in the Event Viewer

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000116 (0xfffffa8003bb44e0, 0xfffff880048c1574, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000002). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 051009-18735-01.
I've yet to figure out what's causing this. Video card? Windows 7?.

I've had numerous of these, varying from 2-5 a day for the past week, again only when playing games.

My rig consists of a Q6600 @ 3.2ghz (it was 3.4Ghz in Vista). ATi HD4870 512MB. 4GB OCZ Reapers @ 4-4-4-15 @ 800Mhz 1:1

I've also found, which I don't know if it's Windows 7 as I've switched from Vista to 7 as my main OS, but when playing games, the PC will just lock up, and I have to restart it.

The other main problem I've had is Overclocking. For some reason, since coming to Windows 7, I've had to underclock my CPU from 3.4Ghz stable in Vista to 3.2ghz (still unsure on stable just yet)

Has anyone else experienced they've had to underclock a bit?

Many thanks.

I had a similar issue with my rig due to ATI's drivers... I had downloaded the drivers off their site and it stated it was version 9.4, but over to the right it didn't say it was WHQL yet. I installed the version that was Windows 7 WHQL (which stated it was version 8.612), but this version was released a month after the version 9.4 and the problem disappeared. I also was having a lot of issues with ATI overdrive, but I don't really need overdrive for my games to perform really good, I just like to push things to the limit... so I disabled overdrive until they get those things fixed up...

So, I'd try the Windows 7 driver that's WHQL and not use overdrive if you were... You can always use the driver that was installed automatically by Windows as well, but I bet you would have a small decrease in gaming performance (not that you would probably notice with a 4870)

yeah this is the ati card doing it...
the cause are the drivers so updating them should do the trick...

This is X64.

I hope it's the drivers, so what I'll do is do a few of my normal things, including stock clocks on my CPU and my 3.2Ghz clock and see how we go from there. I'll report back again later this evening on how I get on.

alright them hope all goes well....;)
the reason i say its the graphics is because of DEFAULT_BUCKET_ID: GRAPHICS_DRIVER_FAULT line in the dump file...;)

Oh. Really?

I'm unsure on how to read the dump file, but I'm glad I know.
All seems well so far at stock.

Thanks again.

Well, as I said I would report back, and have to say today is the first day I've not had a lock up or a blue screen. I guess them drivers did solve it. Although only played about 4hrs worth of gameplay today, I would of had something otherwise. I have my CPU back at overclock and my GPU back at overclock and all seems well.

Thanks again. Much appreciated.
