Hey guys,

I accidentally deleted a good chunk of mixed data (word documents, PDF, XML, MP4, AVI, JPG etc.) from my external hard drive last night. I used Recuva to try and get the data back, but a good portion of the recovered data was damaged and unusable. Is there/do I need to run some sort of program to verify the integrity of the files that were recovered? I'm afraid Recuva only did a partial job and the files that were recovered are incomplete and/or corrupt and I'll run into problems down the road when I try to open them. Thanks!

Nothing shows up in either panes when I specify the external drive. It seems shadow explorer only works for the main C: drive

It works for all drives where restore points are enabled. I always preach to enable them on all data drives - but nobody listenes, LOL.

Information
This tutorial will show you how to enable or disable System Restore for all users in Windows 7 and Windows 8.

System Restore is enabled by default in Windows. If this is disabled, System Restore is turned off, and the System Restore Wizard cannot be accessed. The option to configure System Restore or create a restore point through System Protection is also disabled and grayed out.

You must be logged in as an administrator to be able to do this tutorial.

Can a file (doc, PDF, MP3, FLAC, MP4, AVI etc) simultaneously be functional and corrupt? What I mean is would a corrupt file be able to play normally until a certain point (where it is corrupt) and suddenly stop and display artifacts (skipping frames, distorted audio etc)? I'm concerned because I have a lot of music and movie files that got chewed up in this accident. I'm scrubbing through the video files right now, trying to see which ones I need to replace
