Hello,

I am upgrading from Windows Vista Ultimate. After I update I proceed to log in and i get an error message saying "The server is not responding properly. Verify that VeriSoft serves is properly installed on the target server". I tried to boot in safe mode and from there disable VeriSoft but when I try to run VeriSoft i get another error saying "The VeriSoft Access Manager is not properly installed on your computer".

Is there any way that I can just disable VeriSoft from running at startup so I can log in normally and just uninstall the program?

Thanks in advanced,

Tantrx

P.S. unfortunatly I can't reinstall vista again and just remove verisoft before I upgrade because I left my boot cd's at home and im currently at college.

VeriSoft?

More details on the machine, please - either fill out your system specifications in your User Cpl or else list them (I recommend the former as then they will always be there).

Also, I searched for Verisoft, and found a reference to POS software as well as a reference to some HP BS software....

In device manager i disabled 'AuthenTec Inc. AES2501A' and i still get the same error ((

i dont think its an issue with the actual finger print scanner but some sort of error with verisoft

In safemode, type msconfig into the search box on the startmenu and hit return. Then on the Startup tab, uncheck any reference to the verisign/authentec software. Next, goto the services tab, sort the columns by manufacturer, then uncheck any references again. Then click ok and restart in normal mode.

the only thing that i can find under those tabs that references verisoft is under the 'startup' tab and 'verisoft' only appears in the command column "rundll32.exe c:\PROGRA~2\BIOSCR~1\VeriSoft\Bin\ASTSVCC.dll,RegisterModule"

after disabling that and then rebooting i still get the same error.

Hello tantrx,

did you solve the problem ?

here is the solution for this problem .....

easy as 123 :)

First of all you need yourself , coffee , and chocolate bar :)

second of all finish them all and relax ,,,

here we go ...

just start your computer normally at log in screen , click on swipe finger to log on .

then click on log on with wizard ...then click on more... to choose do not log on to VeriSoft Access Manager woohoo now type your password .

in the end when you logged in you have three choices to choose
1-Do it every time you log on:) .
2-uninstall the VeriSoft Access Manager. <<<piece of mind
3- reinstall the VeriSoft Access Manager. will solve the problem and no need to do the choice 1 neither 2 :) but you need to start saving the password and store your finger print again .....

when you done ... get a glass of wine and have fun... ;)

Solution

I didn't have that option in logon wizard, maybe I am not using the latest version. To get into my system, I just renamed the bioscrypt folder in safe mode and restarted. Then I renamed back and ran the uninstall in control panel for it. It did have errors on the uninstall, but after reboot all is okay with it gone from my computer.

What is the "bioscypt?" I don't know how to change that, or rename. I have an ASUS laptop, f8 series. When I try and install Windows 7 it tells me the verisoft program must be installed, and of course it isn't there. Same problem.

Help please!

Bioscrypt is the folder in c:\program files that the software causing issue is located. Just rename it to bioscypt_old.

No file called bioscrypt in my program files, or bio anything. :(

Is there another way around that?

Start up computer in safe mode and open start menu to find any program related to error messages you have seen. Right click the icon and select properties to see where it is located, then rename that folder. I think I remember having to do this as add remove programs didn't work in safe mode.

Verisoft Access Manager software is not compatible with

Unfortunately, Verisoft Access Manager software is not compatible with Windows 7. I ran into the same problem. You will need to download different fingerprint software. Digital Persona works great. You can download it from HP using the link below. You can update to a newer improved version when the download completes. I actually like this better than the Verisoft. My scanner works better with this software as well.

The software link...copy and paste...

DigitalPersona Fingerprint Software for Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit) - HP Customer Care (United States - English)

Can I just get rid of verisoft somehow? Idc about my fingerprint scanner. Would that helph getting rid of it?

I assume it would, but still there's the problem I can't find it.

Any thoughts?

You can, but you have to do it the way I described above. Get into safe mode and rename the folder it is installed in. This is easiest way to do it, and probably the only way.

Digital persona, though faster than verisoft, but lacks many features. Most importantly the SSO, i mean the function where you can directly command verisoft to open up a web page in one right click and the page would open and automatically sign you in.
