Very basic theme and can't do anything.

Basically, it started because my Word didn't work. I left my laptop for a while and came back to find that the theme was very basic (think it's windows 7 basic, not the aero one), I tried to change the theme because that's what I thought the problem was. I couldn't change the theme and then later discovered that I couldn't access my internet browser, I have connection because I'm posting this on my other computer. I can go on applications but no Microsoft ones, I don't know why this has happened.

is windows still saying it is activated and genuine? same with word

Yeah, it's still saying it's activated but it looks like it's disable my internet for it. I have internet connection for everything else though.
