Well last month I was using an HP laptop (winXP) and it was running 54 mbps, which is fast for me. I got a new laptop (a week ago) and it's a HP and has Windows 7. Every since I started using it it's so slow and running at 12 and 18 mbps, it takes like 1 min. to load up a page. I have a Netgear router for wifi as well. So why is it running so slow the laptop is new?

Hello bigb, welcome to Sevenforums!

12 - 15 MBps should not be slow (mine is 5 and works rather well), but 1 minute to load a single web page is slow. Try going to HP's website and looking for the internet drivers (Lan, wireless adapter, etc) and downloading them. In control panel, remove any previous drivers you've installed for those (internet) components, and then install the newest driver versions.
