Very slow internet when network adapter's not bridged

Hello there,

I'm having this issue with my laptop.

It was about 2 days ago when my internet speed (over WiFi) was dropped to 0.2mbps.
I have tried everything such as
I troubleshot,
I renewed the IP address using: ipconfig /release & ipconfig /renew
I disabled and enabled the network adapter in question
I flushed the DNS: ipconfig /flushdns
and I also reset TCP/IP Stack: netsh int ip reset & netsh int ipv4 set address name="Wireless Network Connection" dhcp

I have also tried to remove the WiFi network and connect again.

It's still 0.2mbps (speedtest.net)

However, I tried to bridge this Wireless Network Connection, and the speed was back to normal.
And the other adapter was not even plugged or connected to internet.

It's funny because it only affects this one WiFi network. I have tried using my iPhone personal hotspot, and the speed was normal. At first, I thought that the WiFi was really just bad, but not until I tested the speed of the same WiFi network on my iPhone and the speed was way faster than when I tested using my laptop.


Is there any possibility that I have might done something wrong with my Wireless Network Connection?

If yes, how to solve the problem so that I don't have to bridge the Wireless Network Connection adapter.

I have indeed tried this as well, but no luck

I even tried to launch NetCut and see if anyone messed around with my network, but nah.

I was wondering if change the MAC address will solve this issue? I tried to change the MAC address using NetCut, but I couldn't. Because by using Network Bridge, it means I'm using a new MAC address right?

Disable the bridge and run in cmd: ipconfig -all
Check what is the MAC address.

You can use Win7 MAC Address Changer v2.0 to change it to any random one

Do u think it's a good idea tho? Like is it alright to change the MAC address?
Because I presume the network admin limits my MAC address or something like that? Idk really.

Should I write down the prev MAC address?

And what MAC address should I change it to? Like is there any rules or something?

Network Admin? Is this a company PC? You shouldn't mess with settings in such a setting and ask the admin to do whatever you need.

Having said that:
You can write the old one yes, but I only asked to change if it is shown as zeros.
It won't cause any issues as long as there is no same MAC address around.
The program has a randomize button, use it.

Oh no no, it's a flat. But I do have flat mates tho.
By network admin, I meant the landlord or someone who did the router settings I suppose.
Perhaps they set a quota for a person to use, and I suppose I have reached that quota.
I don't know, I'm just making observations really lol!

It has nothing to do with the router, but you may need to restart your router. DHCP works with the MAC address

oh my gosh mate! guess what just happened!

I just changed my MAC address (which I just knew it's physical address lol) and the speed came back normal.

What happened there precisely?
any hints? or it's normal for us to change our MAC address after awhile...?

Good news only thing that comes to my mind is router had a bad record?! Did you save the old MAC somewhere? You can try changing back and see what happens. If I had this issue, I would have factory reset the router first and see if it corrects the issue.
