Whenever I open something, say IE, its not the active window. It will open, and sit on the front of the screen, however i cant type in it unless I click it to activate the window... Also, folders keep popping up behind everything, and new windows open behind the active window. I want the new window I open to become the active window... What gives?

Hello Thomas,

How did you install Windows 7? (ex: upgrade or clean)

I'm not sure what may be causing this for you unless it's what Ken mentioned in the post below. I can't reproduce it in my system. You might consider doing a repair install to try and fix this. You will not lose anything.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

its called focus. Sometimes when you have something that is marked to "allways stay on top" (gadget, app, etc) the browser window opens underneath waiting for a click to bring it to the forefront. You have anything like that?

I did a clean install, and no I do not have any programs set to "always on top" :( I might do a repair install to see if it fixes my other problem with the windows not maximizing after minimizing them... I wonder if it will help.

I'll give it a shot, and we'll see what happens.
