Feels like I've been here before. Oh, right. I have. I've posted the same problem at least 2x in this forum. Originally, I was having crashes w/ the Radeon HD-series on my mobo. Thought it would be cheaper to get a new card off Newegg than replace the mobo, so I got the ASUS EAH4350. Now it's crashing.... again.

Last few times it happened, I completely uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and it seemed to fix things. The comp ran perfectly for weeks. Theeeeen, back to the crashes. Now they happen a couple times a day, at least.

Any suggestions (maybe *another* new vid card???) are welcome. I can't seem to find any other places w/ this same issue, so maybe I'm just crazy.

Thanks!!!!

This one is pretty straight forward. Your video driver. specifically the directx component of it. I would go to their site. Get the un-install tool. to scrape all traces of this current driver off, and re-install a fresh copy. If this is happening frequently, I would also run
a system file check (type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow
Also download memtestx86 and run for at least 5 passes to validate your ram.

If you are overclocking stop
If you are running a raid, update its driver.

Let us know if you need help with any of this

Ken.

Thanks - and a follow up

Thanks so much - I've always been blown away at the quality of answers and turnaround time on the replies here. I've worked with various tech support professionals who aren't as responsive and they get *paid* to do this.

A couple questions,

1 - "I would go to their site. Get the un-install tool. to scrape all traces of this current driver off, and re-install a fresh copy." This is an ASUS HD 4350, would you recommend I go to Asus or to ATi? Should it matter?

2 - This has worked in the past (uninstall/reinstall), but I'm wondering if you can recommend anything that might prevent it from doing this all over again in a couple weeks.

I just ran the system scan and didn't find any errors. I'll try the memtest86+ later. I'm not overclocking and not running a raid.

Thanks again!
