look for a cheap used card from the Nvidia 6xxx (6200) or 7xxx (7300 )series of cards. You don't really want to spend too much as you will not be able to move the card to a new computer if or when you get one. Another thing is that based on the age of your computer there is a good chance that the power supply won't be up to running much more than what you currently have.
