Hi my laptop just got formatted and from Xp I have upgraded into Windows 7 everything is fine but it seems my laptop cant even open games even Old ones. It always keeps saying wrong driver.. but i cant seem to install my ATI driver.. Im not sure what driver i should install because in the Device Manager it just says "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" how do i fix this?

-Im using Toshiba Satellite Pro A100
-My video card is Radeon ATI but not sure which one
-Everything was fine until I upgraded into 7

Thanks! :)

Get your drivers here
Download drivers:

Toshiba doesn't provide any new drivers for the Pro A100 series since it is discontinued
AMD Graphics Drivers & Software

does this mean I cant have windows 7 running on my laptop with a proper video driver?

this one "http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/display-20091109135931.zip" the one in the 1st link I cant seem to download it.. It just keeps on being corrupted or stopped at midway of finishing.. :(

Windows 7 will work fine but since the graphic card is old you might not get the special effects such as Aero

Disable any download accelerators and try again

Can you provide the sub number for your model type so I can have more luck finding out exactly which xpress gpu the system uses. It should be something like a100-803

Downloaded no problem here. Had a quick look at the INF for it and it is an old beta driver for Vista (really old as in came out before Vista). It will probably work if you can get it downloaded.

A better option might be to grab this,

ATI Catalyst

which by itself probably won't install. Try it and see and if it doesn't then grab this,

Mobility Modder - ATI Version, Install the Latest Drivers on your ATI laptop

follow the instructions and it will mod the INF in it so that it will install.

Stormy's suggestion may get you through so I'm going to hold off on further input until you've had a shot at that.
