Video Card Question?

I just got a new computer and I'm curious if it'll run Fallout 3, Bioshock 1 & 2, Far Cry 2 and Crysis.
Just a heads up before I buy it so here is my:

The computer specs is:

Intel Quad-Core i5-750 Processor
2.66GHz
4GB Ram
GeForce Verto GT 220
1GB Video PCI-E Video

Awww, darn it lool. I guess I'll just have to wait to replace so I need like a Geforce GTX card.
Well, I did download some benchmark demo games from a website so it can do a PC performances test
Turns out Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter IV and Devil May Cry 4 all ran well. Got a B-C
I know I can't play certain games at a maximum level.

Where can I find all that information AstaLaVista?

How can you be certain he can build it cheaper...he never mentioned what price he is getting on this machine.

But the CPU is only 1 component in the whole build. So, while 1 part could cost more, some of the other parts could cost less. Without knowing the price he is looking at, I cannot for sure say one way or another whether another option would be better.

And sometimes the Intel costs more, but the associated performance gains or reduced cooling needs could justify that extra cost.

*facepalm*. I know he is asking about an entirely new PC....but he never mentioned what he is paying...so who knows!. It's not like an Intel computer always costs $3,000 and and AMD always costs less than $1,500. We don't have enough information to make sweeping statements like you can build what I built and get it a lot cheaper when he didn't mention his price. Granted, maybe we can once we find out price, but without that....I can make no such claims with certainty.

Not always...it always depends upon everything else in the computer.

It also depends what his budget is, and preference.

Amd is a good bang for the buck for the most part, but
Intel is the better performer.

Granted Intel cost more sometimes, but you get what you pay for.

meaning, a x4 Phenom at 3.1 will be easily matched or outpaced by Intel at only 2.5Ghz.

So its a personal choice if the extra cost is worth the perfomance.

As for the OPs original question,
What resolution are you gaming at?

If lower resolutions you might be OK... but if 1680x1050 or more, i would def. upgrade the graphics card.

To the original poster, what is your budget and how much does that computer cost you were looking at. it's very hard for us to tell you if you are getting a good deal without that information.
